Welcome to Sasha Constable's website:

The home page image is a detail from the Peace Monument that is sited in Battambang Province, Cambodia. The project culminated in October 2007, I was the Art coordinator. There is more info in the Cambodia section.

'Year of the Golden Pig' was a recent exhibition of my sculptures, prints and drawings at Java Cafe/Gallery in Phnom Penh. The new art work can be seen in Works for Sale - New Work.
Sculptures and prints are now on display at The Red Gallery, FCC in Siem Reap.

Peace Monuments:
Two Peace Monuments are now sited in Kompong Thom and Battambang provinces. The sculptures were made from 3,500 small arms by 10 young Cambodian artists. The project was funded by the Japanese government and the monuments were created in the DTW workshop in Phnom Penh.

Peace Art Project Cambodia
A sculpture project turning weapons into art as expressions of peace.
There is a page in the Cambodia section titled PAPC. You can view the sculptures, the best photographs and read about the early stages of the project from 2003-04.
Various sculptures can be seen on display at the FCC, Alliance Cafe and The Red Gallery in Siem Reap.

The Giant Puppet Project Siem Reap 2008:
On February 23rd at 8pm, Siem Reap witnessed the second Giant Puppet Parade. The workshops took place over 3 weeks and involved 200 Cambodian children from various schools, orphanages and street kid organisations and also 40 student teachers.
